Default Alliance Battle Balance

Ok, so this weekend we have had a skill balance, mainly for HoH.

I play regularly Alliance Battles and I was hoping to see some improvements in that area.

Almost every battle, there is a 55-monk or more often invinci-ele (Stoneflesh) killing off all the NPCs on shrines or stand on the middle of a res shrine and lets everyone attack him and kill themselves.

Yes I am aware of the fact of enchantment removers and I happily use them. Gaze of Contempt ftw. Too bad they decided to increase the recharge time on this skill. Previously, if a team had 2-3 Stoneflesh-eles, it was doable to take them down. But now, it is almost impossible if there are more then 2.

I think Anet should improve the AI of the NPCs on this matter (yes, its probably too complex programming) or at least nerf this ele-build. In stead of nerfing Stoneflesh, they nerfed the best counterskill for it.

Don't miss my point, I am having loads of fun proving to the invinci-eles that they are not invincible. I am just sad that this forces me to always play as a N/ or /N, cos usually my teammates dont carry any countermeasures for enchantments.

Nerf the Stoneflesh build for all unoriginal copycats!

Plz all bring Gaze of Contempt in AB!

All invincieles and 55-monks know me as Darth Carebear.

Fear the Carebearside!

Because something has a counter doesn't mean its alright.

I agree 300% with you Cain , this build should just be destroyed and never ever bring something like it again, not only for AB but its just stupid that this character can not go down.

Nerf Stoneflesh Aura ( skill that should have never been invented) lose the no critical part and make the user lose 10 energy ( its a ele so yeah 10 energy) or it ends for the damage reduction.
Put Mystic Regeneration in Mysticism and I'm can live with it.

The skill is just waaay 2 powerfull, especially compared to other skills/attributes that reduce damage, such as warrior absorbtion etc.

Ok, Well of the Profane works nice, but it has drawbacks:
1 it needs a corpse
2 it needs an attribute

Gaze of Contempt: attributeless, previously relatively fast recharge, plus it takes away ALL enchantments at once. Just cast it directly after they cast stoneflesh or Mystic regeneration and they die pretty fast.

But still, stoneflesh is way 2 powerfull, even on the Mandragors that have it in PvE. I suppose -10 dmg is a lot better. I also agree with the above post, seems a reasonable idea as well. On the other hand, no ele would cast it, since it would drain their energy very fast. Mystic Regeneration sounds only logical this skill would be in Mysticism, but it isnt?

Besides the build is as unoriginal as Touchers, usually used by noobs who keep trying again and again and find out it is not as invincible as they thought.

Last: I would ask a mod to shift this thread to the new Test Weekend forum, since it would suit better in there. TY

I disagree, the first one who thought up the toucher was quite original. the idea of the ranger attribute working on a necromancer "skill" was quite a good one, and pretty original if you ask me.

but yeah, it got pretty redicilous

Yeh, but 90% of the builds I am using are I have created myself. It isnt hard to think of maximizing one thing and finding other skills that have synergy with them. But the people using 55s, touchers and Stonefleshers in AB are generally people that read a build on a site and copied it, without understanding the weaknesses of it.

Try Vamp Bite or Vamp Touch. Instant death for any 55.

Anet shouldn't be nerfing anything to balance ABs. The solution is for players themselves to bring proper counters.

Many who play 55s and touchers do know their weakness. They play them to counter the overabundance of warriors and assassins in AB. As number of melee class players dwindles, so does the effectiveness of touch rangers, and you'd see fewer of them. So AB's feature of random grouping and lack of hardcore play actually balance builds well by itself.

Spinal shivers and desecrate enchantments ftw!

All Wammo's bring icy weapons!!!

But seriously, these kind of tanks are very annoying, but nothing beats the Farming Was The Warrior build. W/Rt with all the armor boost, endure pain, vengeful weapon and vegeful was somebody. These guys are not only basically the same as 55 or ele tank builds, but are far more durable versus specific hate, in fact I have not found a way to kill them.
